The Australian Cotton Centre was opened in 2002 after Narrabri district cotton grower, Mr Robin Gourley, had an idea for a unique tourist attraction. He believed that the attraction should focus upon entertaining visitors, at the same time educating them in regards to the Australian Cotton Industry.
This unique showcase is an excellent example of entrepreneurial vision and is the only educational facility of its kind.
Architecturally designed to be functional and with sweeping lines and modern styling, the Australian Cotton Centre invites visitors to experience one of Australia's leading and most dynamic agricultural industries.
The moment you step inside your sensory exploration begins.
From the front entrance your attention can't help, but be drawn to the exhibition floor where the massive and very real Case IH cotton picker is situated.
Make your way around the high-tech exhibits, designed by Questacon to provide a “cotton” experience including the 3-D theatre and a beat the buzzer cotton quiz. You can also find out how you would rate as a cotton farmer, and test your strength to see if you could press a bale of cotton, just to name a few.
After following the story of cotton from a tiny seed to a surprising range of products you may be looking for a special gift or maybe a souvenir to remember your visit.
Our gift shop provides an exclusive shopping experience that is designed to enhance the message that the centre promotes by providing visitor access to  a wide range of quality cotton products - all 100% “cotton” of course!
The centre also takes pride in providing a first class range of additional services, which include:

  • Facilities & access for the disabled
  • Group facilities & services
  • Cotton Tours
  • Ample car park for caravans, coaches and all other vehicles
